For sale is my 1966 Datsun 1600. I bought this car several years ago from outside of Phoenix Arizona and had it shipped to me in Connecticut. The car spent its entire life in the southwest, first in Barstow, California and then outside of Phoenix. I love this car but with 3 kids we simply do not fit in it any more so I am trying to find it a new home. The car was sound when I got it but it had some basic needs. Here is what I did to the vehicle along with some notes on its condition:I stripped out the the 1980s velour interior, added dynamat and added a new 1966-correct interior. The only change I made was to install 1968 seats so I could incorporate headrests which can be removed if you prefer. New convertible top.New Weber DCOE 40 carbs. The original carbs will come with the car.New brakes, suspension, fuel pump, rebuilt rear leaf springs. I can send a copy of the bill stating the work that was performed, it was as expensive as my asking price, so alot was done!New Panasport wheels and tires.There is only spot where I think rust might be forming, under the paint at the back right wheel arch but it is minimal. See photo. There is not any rust visible on the car.The previous owner repainted the car to the current red color. The paint is good and I have gotten lots of comments but it is not perfect.I left the original radio in the dash but installed an aftermarket CD player in the glovebox and installed new speakers under the original speaker covers.The cars has some dings in the front and rear bumpers though the chrome is fairly good.The car comes with its original hardtop and tonneau cover.New battery that has been kept on a Battery Tender.The car has always been stored in a garage.The car comes with a custom fit car cover that I purchased 4 years ago.The car comes with new rubber gaskets for window door frames and original style battery tray that have never been installed.The car is certainly not perfect but I think you would be hard-pressed to find a nicer example.
